Located in the foothills just east of the city of Adelaide, Black Hill Pony Club provides riding and agistment facilities for its members. You may have seen some of the recent publicity regarding the State Government's plan to sell off the Pony Club's land for housing. In the Federal Budget, it was revealed that South Australia will receive hundreds of millions of dollars in extra GST revenues that were previously unaccounted for. There is no reason why the land used by Black Hill Pony Club must be sold simply to balance the books. MPs John Gardner and Christopher Pyne are both supporting the Club and we would very much encourage friends, family and supporters of the Club to sign a petition. To download a form, please click here. Please note, forms must be returned to John Gardner's office (address is on the petition form) by Friday, June 18th. For more details, please contact John Gardner's office on 83654224 or by email morialta@parliament.sa.gov.au Please help in preventing another community organisation and open space being lost to the developers. Starting from humble beginnings over 30 years ago, we have grown to be a Club with over 200 members and associates and there are 30 horses and ponies agisted on the property full time. With one of the bigger turnouts for any club in the Metropolitan Zone at local competitions, we are a competitive club, competing in novelties, eventing, dressage and showjumping at State Level as well as local competitions and some hack events. However, as a family-orientated club, our main focus at competitions is to maintain a high level of team spirit among competitors and good sportsmanship is a must! Blackhill Pony Club has excellent facilities which include: two arenas, a round yard arena and a shortcourse cross-country course. The cross country course is a feature at our annual One Day Event usually held in March and horses enjoy grazing here throughout the year.
